Ohio Valley Presbytery • February 1-2, 2008

In the eighth chapter of Revelation, God takes "incense", the prayers of His people, and throws them down upon the earth...and there are earthquakes. To God our prayers are like sweet perfume which He turns into dynamite! In many Reformed churches today, we understand the importance of preaching the Word of God, which builds the Kingdom of God. But do we fully understand that God will shake the earth with the prayers of His people? Reverend John Sartelle believes that all the saints can ‘shake the earth’ through their prayers. He writes:

“I want every man at the conference walking away knowing he is a priest and thinking about what large prayers he can pray for the advancement of God's Kingdom in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. I want each man to walk away from the conference knowing that he is a priest for his local church, his neighborhood, his family...He is a priest building the Kingdom of God and shaking the earth through his prayers. I love Revelation 5:10... ‘You have made them to be a kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.’”
